Purpose of the role:

RHA has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our organization to provide expertise in IT developments for both the organization and the services provided by RHA.

The Rochdale Health Alliance (RHA) was formed in 2016 by GPs across the Borough of Rochdale, to streamline the way services are delivered and help develop a health care and service offering wider social groups in the borough. The post holder will be a key member of the team and the role will work across all areas, providing strong IT support for the services provided as well as managing RHA’s internal IT requirements and processes.

The incumbent will be expected to develop and establish strong collaborative relationships with all stakeholders. These will include practice members and partner agencies, such as IT vendors, GMSS, the GM ICB, etc.

The job description and person specification is an outline of the duties, responsibilities, and results required for the role. The incumbent will perform any other duties reasonably required. The following areas of responsibility are indicative of the role but may be subject to change as RHA continues to grow.

Salary will depend on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage inventory and register of RHA IT assets (including telephony) – ensuring they are accurate
  • Support the Head of Operations on support contract agreements with IT partners such as GMSS and Virgin
  • Support those responsible for the various operational and project workflows so that they have clear responsibilities, priorities and deadlines and work cohesively to meet milestones
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans for defined projects/workflows with detailed activities, including expected completion dates and milestones, etc.
  • Support resource planning and allocation to ensure appropriate utilization throughout the life of the project
  • Support the development, tracking and response to performance metrics across multiple, concurrent large-scale, specialized projects.
  • Within limits of delegated responsibility, formulate and adjust plans and strategies to respond to emerging issues, in an environment of high uncertainty.
  • Support the planning and implementation of new ways of working, play a supporting role in meetings, conferences, strategic planning to ensure excellent project performance. Facilitate collaborative work on all projects
  • Ensure procedures and policies are developed, reviewed and implemented with respect to document control, version control, change process, project plan development, monitoring and reporting.
  • Produce comprehensive draft reports, data and letters.
  • Contribute to communication/briefing.
  • Make presentations to user groups and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project/workflow progress/performance ensuring that all planned activities/products are completed/delivered on time and to an agreed quality and when issues arise ensure they are quickly forwarded to the operations manager.
  • Analyze and interrogate complex service and financial information, as appropriate, to support new service development/inform RHA decisions.
  • Analyze, interpret and compare options against projects and risks.
  • Keep abreast of new technology developments and their implementation in order to follow best practices
  • Act as primary point of contact for RHA on defined projects/workflows, providing guidance and support to key internal and external stakeholders, taking responsibility for day-to-day project operational matters.
  • Regularly attend and present project/workflow progress to SMT/Board.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain productive working relationships between RHA, GMSS, member practices and broader stakeholders.
  • Plan and prioritize own workload to ensure deadlines are met and work is delivered to a high standard.
  • Undertake surveys, reviews and research related to Federation projects/activities as appropriate.
  • Provide regular progress reports and be accountable to the Head of Operations.

General:

  • Undertake any other duties relevant to the post and respond to statutory, legislative and NHS policy within the scope of the role.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all matters relating to the Service and comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1984
  • Attend trainings and meetings as needed
